Winter.

Winter in Sydney is unbelievable! I really don't remember greater winter weather here - perhaps bad memory or just appreciating it more now I'm a little older? Either way, we've had very few rainy days and we are are loving what Sydney has to offer, soaking up every second of it in case the temperature drops..! So, due to such weather, Cal and I have been busy. Busy in perhaps a different sense sense of the word. Not working, but walking, exploring and eating our way through Sydney is strangely exhausting! I come home every night absolutely shattered from the day's adventures. So on that note, I thought I would share some adventures from the past 10 days in Australia with some snaps to go alongside.

At the beginning of last week we went to the Hunter Valley, wine country a couple hours out of Sydney. We stayed at Pepper's Guest House for two nights, where there were plenty of wild kangaroos hopping about out on the lawns for Callum to appreciate. Unfortunately the entire time we were there it poured with rain. Absolutely dumped. These pictures was taken the morning we left, when the sun finally decided to grace us with it's presence.

This strange little thing, who is probably not the most photogenic chap, is a salted caramel cronut (that is a croissant donut hybrid for those of you that have not stumbled across this brilliant creation). Caramel custard filled goodness in that bad boy. Yes.

On Saturday we went to Manly for a late afternoon drink at Manly Wine, where I had the most delicious cocktail - gin, champagne and rose. With a rose sticking out of it. It tasted as good as it sounds. I'm already plotting and scheming when I can head back for a second one..! This was all topped off with watching dolphins swim in the surf whilst drinking said cocktail, and swiftly followed by and an incredible double rainbow!

On Monday we went to The Grounds for breakfast. We had paid The Grounds a visit a couple of weeks back over The Queen's Birthday weekend as they have a great market on over public holiday weekends. The market attracts so many people that we felt we didn't really get to enjoy it! So we went back. Baked eggs for me and full breakfast for Cal. And yes, below that is Callum putting pepper in his coffee thinking it was chocolate.

Feeling a little full, we came home from The Grounds and headed to Balmoral Beach for a juice and a walk. Balmoral is the beach round the corner from ours so we have been spending a lot of time there, mainly walking but eating our fair share there too. After our juice stop at The Boathouse, we went on a walk to Clifton Gardens (the next bay across) and then back to explore the rock pools in Balmoral.

Yesterday we headed to Palm Beach (aka Summer Bay from Home and Away) as we hadn't been there since arriving. I'd taken Callum there on his first trip to Sydney to go for tacos at Cranky Fins (which is unfortunately closed for the winter), so we wanted to head back.

First stop was a little coffee pick-me-up before heading on to the beach. Could that beach have been looking any better?! The water was warm so we had plenty of fun there before making moves back to Sydney, driving along the coast and stopping for lunch and a spot of shopping on the way back.

So there you have it. That's what's been happening with us "Down Under" over the past ten days. Now looking back at where we have been and what we have been doing, no wonder I am feeling exhausted! We've seen and done so much!

Also, apologies for cramming so many adventures into one blog post! There was just too much to share. Next time I'll keep blogs shorter and perhaps post them more frequently to avoid such an issue.

Grace.
